Grace's new do

She was adamant that she wanted her hair cut. How could I say no? It's her head right? I am still mourning the loss of the long locks but she is thrilled with her new hair and I have to admit it looks pretty cute. For those of you who haven't seen it yet. Here is the new Grace!

And Baby Makes Three

I had the pleasure of shooting Lauren and Ty and their bundle of joy that will be coming this January. Who could ask for a better model? She was gorgeous. This was the shoot I bought the lights for and while I still have a lot to learn I know I'm gonna like having them around. Here are a couple of my favorites so far. I haven't gone through them all yet. Hope you enjoy.

chip off the ol' block

Grace took this picture of me tonight. She learned a lot and asked a bunch of questions. She did a good job.

This photo was taken with one light a softbox at -3 power and about 45 degrees to the left of me. 2.8/250 and ISO 100. We decided to start simple and then build from there. Tonight we just focused on the one light. I have to admit its quite complicated balancing what God does for us outside. I appreciate the sun SO MUCH! It is the best light there is in photography.

This was taken at the end of a long day... :) more another day...

my space and slide

I've taken the dive into the my space realm. I figured I would share with you who check out my blog. Take a visit and let me know what you think. If you have a my space page make me a friend. I need friends. :)

go to www.myspace.com/dolcevitaimages

Here is a little preview but its not the same without the pictures moving and the music ;) One of these days I'm going to have to have a session with one of my photographer friends to get a better picture of myself!! haha

More Practice

Well, we only had about 10 min before Sam had to go to Friday night...but here is the result. I like this one. After about three quick sessions I still find myself fixing things in photoshop but on Sunday I am going to make adjustments from full power down and take notes to learn how these lights behave. In the meantime...meet my son, Sam the music man.
